Books: Understanding Comics - Scott McCloud

This is a very cool comic book about comics. It starts with a brief historical account of origin of sequential art, then moves on to discuss different elements and style that characterizes a comic. Very nice illustrations(exmaples) of the techniques and how they affect the readers.

I haven't read through it yet, just started reading it a couple of hours back so will hopefully be able to post a detailed review soon.
